Pro Way Covid 19 Notice
Dear Pro Way family
As we continue to navigate COVID-19 together, I want to be sure we continue to be transparent in our communication and keep you updated on recent developments. We remain committed to leading with care, transparency and making our decisions based on facts and science, not rumor or innuendo – relying on the experts to support our actions so we are always doing what’s best for students, our staff and communities.
For the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring and preparing for all the possible scenarios and ensuring we have the right plans and resources in place, defined principally by expert guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local public health authorities. As mentioned in previous communications, this includes the cleaning of common areas and ensuring students and staff are being diligent in executing the cleaning guidelines.
Recently, our institution has been impacted directly by a positive diagnosis of COVID-19 within our student body. We quickly activated our protocols, immediately closing the location and initiating a deep clean, following all recommended guidelines which are to include instruction of Self-isolating at home for an extended period along with other guidelines from the City of Stone Mountain and Dekalb County public health authorities. Following proper protocol, we are encouraged to soon reopen the extension
location after further preventative cleaning, which we have already conducted and staffed by personnel who have no known impact from COVID-19. Out of respect for the student, we ask that you honor their privacy and avoid sharing details publicly in social media. For now, we are all focused on supporting them, doing what is right for all of you, and supporting all with whatever they need.
Pro Way Hair School has and will continue to adapt its practices to ensure that we continue to deliver against our students’ and staffs’ expectations, while also making decisions in a thoughtful manner that prioritizes the safety of everyone. We ask that you also make responsible decisions while at school. All gatherings, of any size, must observe appropriate social distancing. Students and staff alike should wear masks. There is no room for error here. People’s lives depend on your adherence to these rules. They are not just nameless, faceless people – they are our people.
So please, make decisions with this in mind. We understand that it requires a different way of thinking about and approaching life but we believe our students are conscientious enough and mature enough to adhere to the public health expectations of Pro Way Hair School and the City of Stone Mountain. We need the help of everyone to have a safe experience. Hold your friends and peers accountable and reach out when you need help with that.
Looking ahead, we will continue to follow our COVID-19 protocols, the frequent, additional cleaning and sanitizing procedures already underway in both of our locations are fully in line with CDC guidance. We know the situation with COVID-19 is evolving quickly and we might hear about other impacted individuals in our community. The entire leadership team remains fully committed, meeting regularly, to ensure we do what is best for you, today and always. In the meantime, we remain committed to honest conversation, taking care of one another, and making decisions with you in mind.
The COVID-19 virus will remain a fact of life for the foreseeable future. Natural immunity, which has been slowed by the shutdown, will not yet have fully developed. No vaccine can be counted on until at least 2021. It is unclear what course other schools will choose, but Pro Way Hair School will employ every measure we can adopt or devise to manage this challenge with maximum safety for every member of the Pro Way family while proceeding with the mission for which our institution stands.
Sincerely,
Mr. Carl T. Jordan
Director of Operations
